Make People Pretty with Background Landscapes in Snapseed & Lightroom Apps | Android | iOS

Today we are gonna turn this bland image to a lively one using free Snapseed and Lightroom apps.

Opening the image in Snapseed, first I am gonna try getting more details by going to

Tune Image and reducing the Highlights especially in the sky.

Next will selectively pop parts of the image using Selective filters.

First one on the bright spots of the sky on the left.

Here I am gonna increase brightness and also saturation.

Making the source light more bright here.

One on the right to make that part more dark.

One in the top part of the sky to make it darker.

One on the bright part of the jacket to pop by increasing brightness and contrast.

One on the brighter parts of the trousers to make them more bright.

Also on the backpack.

One on the face, will increase brightness and saturation here.

As you can notice, some brightness has spilled over outside of the subject.

Will clean it up in the masking screen.

Will add one more selective filter on the background and make

the selection as big as possible and darken it.

Going to masking screen to remove any darkness added on the subject.

Also make sure to remove on the left part of the sky which I forgot doing here.

Going to Curves now and applying some contrast with brightening the highlights.

Removing the brightening in the sky in the masking screen.

Now in to White Balance menu, adding temperature and tint to add reddish tones.

Applying it on the left part of the sky where the light source is there.

Adding a selective filter to make the 'light source' more bright.

Now applying vignette with the Vintage filter.

Increasing the vignette strength here for a darker vignette.

In the masking screen, removing it on the left part to retain the brightness.

One selective filter on the face to further brighten it.

As you can notice, some noise has creeped in.

Will fix that later.

Now some dodging with the Brush tool.

With the brush value set at +5, brushing on the highlights on the rocks below to further

brighten them.

Also adding temperature with the same value.

This will make the foreground a little more interesting.

After these edits in Snapseed, will share the image to Lightroom app for mainly color grading.

In Lightroom, first going to the Color menu>MIX for the HSL sliders.

Here moving the red hues towards orange...

...also adding more saturation.

Moving the greens towards yellows.

Muting the blues a bit.

Next in the Detail menu, trying to remove noise by dragging the Noise reduction slider.

Adding some grain in the Effects menu.

Going to grading in Color menu, adding some orangish tones to the highlights...

...lot of blues to the shadows.

Also little green with yellows on the midtones.

Tuning the Blacks and Whites in Light menu to make the image pop more.

Finally in the Curves, darkening the shadows further for this look.
